This is the sequel to the first book in The Anatomy Duology #2.
The book is an excellent sequel to the first one, which follows Hazel and her trying to focus on her work as the first female surgeon in Scotland and forgetting about Jack. Helping a patient that lands her in prison awaiting the hangman, yet before that can happen, the English Royal family saves her, the savor being that of the prince regent. She is called forth to treat the Princess Charlotte, who has been sick, and, in turn, breaks her engagement to the Prince of Orange as she works on getting Princess Charlotte well enough to marry. Hazel is also invited to join the Companions to the Death club, which has exciting members.
This book is five out of five stars for me. Having read the first book and falling in love with Hazel, with her desire and drive to help others and to be a modern woman in a time when women were supposed to be mothers. Hazel is a great main character, and I wish there were more books in the Duology.
A great book to read.
Five out of five stars.
